Management Bios:
Victor A. Gresham
Vic Gresham is a founding partner of Conquest Communications Group.
Gresham also serves as president of Bold
Stroke Associates, a full-service
strategic consulting, message development
and management firm.
Few, if any, other tele-contact
experts have the experience
and successful track record
of Vic Gresham in American
politics, on either side of
the aisle. For almost a quarter
century, Gresham has been an
innovator and leader in putting
technological advances to work for Republican
and conservative causes. Gresham
has consulted or managed numerous
statewide campaigns, and is
widely viewed as an expert
in convention floor management
and intra-party campaigning.
In the early years
of Ronald Reagan’s presidency, Gresham served as Political
Director for the National Conservative
Political Action Committee,
NCPAC. In 1984 Gresham left NCPAC
to work on President Reagan’s
reelection effort, where he
planned and managed voter registration
and ID/GOTV programs. Under
his management of these programs,
more than 50,000 new voters
were registered and more than
600,000 Virginians were contacted for the purposes of determining
their preference in the presidential
election. Soon after the presidential
campaign, Gresham was named
Vice President of Bryant
Seaman Voter Communications.
In
1989 Vic opened his own voter
contact firm. Utilizing bar-code
technology, Gresham developed
the first rapid data entry
system for information gathered
via voter identification calls. Gresham’s ability to put
usable data in the hands of campaigns less than 24 hours
after the data was collected brought
his firm to the attention of the National Republican
Congressional Committee’s political division, and he was
contracted to handle voter identification
and turnout for four special Congressional
elections soon after his company
opened its doors.
In 1997, Gresham founded Conquest
Communications Group. Before the
end of the 1998 election cycle,
Conquest was recognized throughout
national Republican circles
as a nationwide leader in tele-contact
services.
Gresham is a frequent lecturer on the topics of political
strategy
and direct voter contact. His Campaigns & Elections magazine
analysis of the 1998 elections
entitled, “Why Conservatives
Didn’t Turn Out,” has
been incorporated into the book, “The Enduring Debate:
Classic and Contemporary Readings
in American Politics.” Gresham, who resides in Henrico
County, Virginia, has three
children.
Winfree W. Chewning, Jr.
Win Chewning, Senior Vice President,
has been with Conquest since its founding. In addition to being
the primary contact for Conquest’s private sector
clients, Chewning oversees the Call Center Operations staff. He has directed
the design and deployment of all four of Conquest’s unique direct contact
center setups.
Chewning has extensive experience designing and implementing
fundraising programs for all levels of organizations, and has
spoken at fundraising and tele-contact seminars across the country.
Chewning also takes the lead at Conquest in preparing collected
data for analysis, and he has extensive training in the SPSS statistical
analysis software package.
Prior to joining Conquest, Chewning was a small businessman who
served as president of his area’s retail merchants’ association,
and developed marketing strategies for the local business community.
He also served for a number of years in management for Richmond-based
Best Products, Inc.
Chewning holds a B.A. in psychology from The University of Virginia,
and has been published twice on the subject. He is a member of
the National Association of Republican Campaign Professionals.
Chewning, his wife Susan and their two children are active members
of the West End Assembly of God.
